Minutes of the meeting of 3/29/18
Meeting Opened at: 5pm
Select Board Members Present: Steve Weisz, Chairperson, Carol Edelman and Kenneth Basler
Miscellaneous Items Reviewed:
- Warrants were signed.
- Minutes from 3/21 & 3/27/18 were approved.
- Carol informed the Board that she sent out a “save the date” reminder to her email list about the school committee meeting that will be held in Monterey at the community center on April 26th at 6pm.
- The Board approved a memo to be sent to the Planning Board regarding the marijuana moratorium.
- The Board approved the answers worked on by Kenn, Shawn and Melissa for the Chapter 90 Questionnaire.
- The Board appointed Emily Stockman as a special municipal employee at the request of the Conservation Commission to serve as a wetlands consultant for the NOI submitted by the Monterey Library.
- The Board agreed to a meeting to begin discussions/negotiations as a host community. They have requested that town counsel be present.
- Steve informed the Board that he had a discussion with BJ of the Finance Committee regarding the Town Administrator salary, expenses and benefits. Both thought that since the Select Board is unanimous and 2/3 of the Finance Committee have voted to lower the salary and expenses to $1 and remove the cost of benefits that this should be reflected in the proposed budget. After discussion it was agreed that the Finance Committee should have a meeting to officially vote on that recommendation whether it be at a combined meeting or a separate Finance Committee meeting.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 5:25pm
